Pivot Point

Photo of our boat by Sarah Thurman

Well today is shaping up to be a pivotal day in our transition. We are tying up loose ends at the house, will be having our last garage sale on Saturday morning and we have found a better solution for our living arrangements. There will be more on this in the near future, but it involves the acquisition of another vessel that has a substantially greater amount of room. This will help for storage as well as additional "hang out" space.

It's amazing how difficult the small things can be like getting kids registered for school. We didn't intend on homeschooling the kids this year and planned on waiting until the next year, however the whole address thing is proving to be a slight issue. We might very well begin doing it this year and will find a structured program to suit our needs.

Sailing has been great out here and we have been sailing on average 3x per week and there has been an effort to not just sail but to practice anchoring, man overboard drills, sailing into a cove, leaving under sail power after pulling the anchor etc. It's been quite fun and I've had a great time taking on new challenges.

Jess and I are both missing the kids as they enjoy their summer with Grandparents in Michigan. Now just because we are missing them doesn't mean we aren't enjoying the time ;-) We never really had any alone time after we got married since Jess got pregnant a little over a month after, but we are really seeing what the future holds after having a month without little ones lol..
